I think it's about time for another post. Here is the party favor that I made for Hallie to give her friends that came to her painting birthday party.

They put all the art work they created in the clip boards and took them home.

I think after making 16 I have used enough modge podge to last a lifetime but it was well worth the time.

We went to Hobby Lobby today and picked out flowers to use for hair clips. Hallie is very excited for her party tomorrow. In the morning I'm going to have Hallie sign all the thank you cards. I think they turned out pretty cute. They were VERY easy. I love flower clips. LOVE them. Hope her friends like them too!

Our church is making a quilt for the Medical City Children’s Hospital in Dallas. When children are terminally ill they go there for their last days and people donate quilts with inspirational sayings on them to help them and their families during that time. People that come to visit them can sign their blanket and when they pass on their family keeps the quilt. They needed someone to make a card for everyone to sign so Jen volunteered and asked for my help. Here is what we came up with. This is for a teenage girl. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.

Here is the layout we'll be doing next weekend for club. I got the idea for the sun in the corner from my sweet friend and upline, Lindsey. Love it, Linz! ;) This is obviously the feminine version of the layout. The masculine version has brilliant blue instead of the melon mambo.

You pull the tab on the right page and it opens like a card. It's fun to add another picture and some journaling to the pages. And yes, I still need the journaling.

August's Stamp Club Project!

Jen Beal is the hostess for club in August and wants to decorate these tins. So if you're in the club pick up a tin at hobby lobby (don't forget to print off a coupon online) and I will provide all the paper and ribbon. I have tons of different patterns of paper and colors of ribbon so you can personalize your tin. I use my box for all my cards.

Well it has been MONTHS since I have made anything. Julia is now 2 and a half months old. We are settled in our place and I am ready to get started again. We have a long way to go with Leah-inspired stuff! :) Here is the next one! I have to admit, I LOVE this one. I love layouts that you can fit a bunch of pictures on- and this is certainly the case. I also love layouts that use scraps and make a quilt-like pattern. So, another master piece idea beginning with Leah's idea here, and ending up like the page you see before you!

Retreat Class: Friendship in a Jar...Packet Style

These jars are perfect for a gift for a friend or sister...even to keep for yourself. They can be used to hold ribbon scraps, bath salts or crystals, candy, buttons, accessories, anything you can think of. They come in 2 sizes and you can choose either pattern.

Small jars are $3. Paper is double sided which allows you to play around with the colors and patterns.

Large Jars are $4.

You can either hang the tag from the jar or stick it to the top.

What to use!

Well, I tried 3 different types of adhesive on the accordion flower I made the other day and after a few hours the flower would come apart. How frustrating. So I decided to make this flower with the scallop punch I have seen. I have wanted to try it for a long time...so here is the new card!

For the workshop I want to demonstrate how you can use the color scheme in the designer paper SU! sells even if you don't have the paper. Here is a card I made with the same colors but used just cardstock and stamps.

Every once in a while it's nice to have the colors already picked! ;)

I need to get used to this camera and the lighting and focus so bear with me. These didn't turn out the way I want them to but I will keep trying!

Now I just need to finish the pages with the journaling! :) Why does that take so long again?

This layout says MUMS and is a Texas High School thing. The girls each had a mum made for them and they wore them to the first high school football game we went to here!

I love these pictures of Audrey. I think they are so fun. They really capture her personality.

Hallie is all girlie girl and these pictures prove it!

This is may favorite layout. I LOVE the pictures and that it's Julia's first laytou. I love the black, white and pink...and the touch of baja breeze!

I helped a friend make this for her sister-in-law. She is having her first boy and Minda wanted to make her a name frame. It was so quick and easy to put together!

Halloween Workshop

This past week was the Halloween workshop and I wanted to post the projects! She wanted Halloween, boy, and birthday themes!

I made this trick or treat bucket for Kirsten's hostess gift. She can use it for decoration or for her son Teancum to use trick or treating. I was so excited with the finished product that it was hard to give away! ;)

Here is on of the make and takes, a small bag of Halloween goodies. This project was SO EASY!
The spider and words are embossed. The idea came in the most recent issue of Stampin' Success. How fun!

This is a card I made Audrey's for birthday that I embossed as well.
I adapted the card for the second make and take. It is hard to see the embossing in the picture. I had so much fun making the Halloween projects. It is so fun having a kids' birthday so close to Halloween!

Sorry for the horrible picture quality. I do not know what is up with my camera but it doesn't focus worth beans.
I put 8 3 x 3 ards inside (4 thank you and 4 happy birthday). I really like the way it all turned out!

Truth Be Told!

If you know me at all you know that I couldn't leave my last card for the contest alone. I really liked it but thought it could be cuter. Anyway, I added a photo corner in the corner above the Dad's head and then a round tab punch to the right of the scalloped grass. It was the bella rose brown printed paper and it gave it the last touch I wanted. The tab opened the card. I also added ...to TEXAS in the inside of the card and scalloped grass across as well. It was finally finished!

Anyway, I found out today that I won! I am very excited as I spent a lot of time on the cards. I really wanted to do my best work.

I just think it's funny (and a little frustrating) that I can't just leave artistic things alone! Without a doubt a characteristic that my Mother has. My sister Angie too, and maybe since I learned to stamp from her that is why I am the way I am! It can be totally annoying during the process when it just isn't right so I fiddle and fiddle, BUT I am always (nearly always) pleased in the end!

Changing It Up!

After talking to Angie and Lindsey I decided to go with the original colors of the baby card for my 2nd card for the contest. They were right, the colors are better and the contrast looks great. I am REALLY happy with this card. :)
My last card for the contest I wanted to do different than my other entries. I think this one is really fun, I'm just trying to decide if it is finished or not.

My New Best Friend!!!

This School Years kit by Becky Higgins was one of my greatest purchases EVER!!! It takes you from Pre-School through 12th Grade giving you a kit for each grade. They have brads, chipboard, cardstock, labels and a pre-made title. I love the pocket for school work for each grade. This kit ROCKS!! Not to mention the fact that it was a great deal. Unfortunately you can only buy them on Ebay now. She only sold the kit 2 times. Once at the beginning of the year and all kits sold out and then another time a few months ago when she decided to print them once more.
Anyway, I just did Claire's Pre-K pages and can't wait to do her K ones where she can sign her name and put her hand print on it. This kit makes scrapbooking the school years SO much easier. I am a friek and bought 4 kits....we'll have another baby right...if not then I know I can sell it!!! :)

I love how it gives you all the prompts to write about things. Some of the stuff I never would have thought to write. Love it.

Card Number one?

I think I am going to use this card as one of the three for the contest I am entering next month. I embossed the stamped images which made a big difference in the overall look. I tied that stink' bow a million times and it still isn't right!!! I had to step away and I'll try another day! ;) Where are you Lindsey?

This is my card for the splitcoast color challenge today. Colors were certainly celery, blue bayou, and soft sky. I am always needing baby cards and my friend Jen in Utah is due any day now. :) So this one is for Jen's baby boy.

Something I have been working on...

I have been working on this sign for a friend of mine. She wanted me to make it for her daughter's room. Although everything isn't stuck down and we will play with the flowers and butterflies this gives you an idea of what it will look like.

I have had a hard time piecing the background together. The right side still needs to be adhered but there will be one or two lines where the cardstock had to go on top. I think once it is one the wall it won't be very noticeable and the letters cover up a lot. It will look better than this picture though. :)

Angie went to a stampin up party her friend Lynae had and they made this card. She thought it was way cute and wanted to show me. After seeing a picture of it it thought I would make something like it for tomorrow's stock up and save party. Very cute card, Lynae!

Limited Supply Challenge

After I looked on Lindsey's blog I thought I would try the limited supply challenge today too!

Challenge: You can use any stamps, colors, paper, and embellishments, with the tools limited to any circle cutting system (circle punches, circle coluzzle, etc).

I used my new favorite set, Enjoy Every Moment with my new favorite color combo, Wild Wasabi, Regal Rose, and Basic Gray. It was a lot of fun. This is the first time I have done a limited supply challenge and it was tough when I would think of adding something but couldn't cause it was a tool!

So most of you know that I have mostly girlie layouts so I thought I would post a layout for little boys. I love these colors together and still can't get enough wasabi. I took the 6x6 baby card and made a 12x12 layout from it. So here it is:

I made this card to use for the scrapbook night card exchange. Cori had the idea to make the cards 6 x 6 instead of the standard card size. That way we can use the card in a layout if we want. Brilliant idea! ;)
I love the wild wasabi with regal rose. And I just ordered all the striped ribbon...LOVE it.
I think wild wasabi is one of my top 3 colors and since it is an "in color" it will be retiring soon. :( I will have to do some serious stocking up.

Here is a card I made for my "March Mystery Hostess Party". I love the new build a brads. They are so easy and fun. This summer picnic paper from the occasions mini is also super cute.

I made these cards at retreat.
This one says "you are one of kind." If I did this one over I would use the daubers instead of inking it directly with the ink pad...I think the edges would look like I want them too.

I didn't realize how off the xoxo circle was until I saw it on the computer...oh well, I guess! :)

This one I made in Lindsey's Technique class. I hardly ever make masculine cards so this was fun for me. I just ordered this small star punch so I am excited for it to come!

Retreat Layout Number 3

Here is another layout I did at retreat. I used the Rose Cottage simply srappin kit. Again, this is a very simple layout. I had a lot of fun doing our wedding photos. We didn't have very many snapshots of the day. All the pictures we had were professional. All these years I didn't want to scrap the professional ones but yet they just sat in a box. So I decided to get use out of them. :)

Since I have all my scrapbooking supplies in my bedroom it has been hard because my stuff has always taken over the corner of the room. Organizational items aren't cheap and I have slowly tried to get to where I want to be. Zeb has been incredibly patient. :)

Over the course of about a year now, I have been trying to get my stuff organized. Even after Zeb bought me a small bookshelf for my stamps there still was too much stuff for the space. So when Zeb and I saw this 16 cubby bookshelf from IKEA you could say I was pretty stoked.

Slight problem: We drove all the way to Round Rock in our "small" family vehicle and after deciding to purchase the bookshelf Zeb had the bright idea to measure it first. Needless to say the car was an inch too short. We thought, "hey, we'll just get it delivered." Well, that doesn't work when it would cost MORE THAN THE BOOKSHELF!!! Bummer. Luckily Josh and Carol were driving down that weekend and they have an IKEA close to them. So they picked it up for us and drove it here in their truck. THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

This shelving unit was PERFECT and the last thing I needed to organize all my stuff. I love it and think my space has been fully "embraced!" The huge project of organizing my space is finally finished. Man it feels good! I am so excited!

I took this layout from the 6 x 6 card I made (after seeing Lindsey's card) and progressively finished a 12 x 12 layout. I love the 2 star punches. Although I must say I want to play around with the placement of the stars on the right page. ;)

Jana's baby shower is just around the corner so I am making the invitations. We were both "new" together when we moved to Waco and our husbands started school. She is such a fun person and I am so glad we're friends. Her newfound favorite color is rose red so naturally I had to use it for the invitations! I think these turned out really fun.

My cards are done! They were originally Christmas cards but Christmas came too soon! So I decided to send them out at the beginning of the new year (thanks for the idea Cindy). So while I was in Utah my sweet sister Angie kept telling me to pull out my stuff and finish them. Boy am I glad she did! I don't know if I would have ever gotten them done if she hadn't insisted. She even cut out about 25-30 of those snowflakes to help me. Now that's love right there! :)
Anyway, I am really excited to have them done! It feels great! And I am even more excited to make a trip to the post office and dump these bad boys in the drop off box! As Lindsey would say, "Can I get a yeehaw?"

I wish I had an endless supply of time and money and then I would have been able to make cards for everyone in Texas as well. :)

This little book/card idea came from a Christmas card I received from my friend Brooke in Arizona. I thought it was so fun and easy. I think the card would be cute with a few pictures in it of your sweetheart or kids. You can change the words to whatever you need!

Sweet Baby of Mine Club Layout

This layout is January's layout for club. I love this paper. Since I had a lot left from last year and I don't have any new valentines paper from the new catalog, I decided to use it for the layout kits. It's pretty cute paper isn't it? I used the new schoolbook serif alphabet for the title with the jumbo outline alphabet for the "a" and the "i."
12 x 12 Kits are $4 and can be ordered by anyone, in club or not! :)

Notebooks and Flower Pens

These darling notebooks with flower pens I made after seeing some Cindy and Lindsey made. They are so easy and a darling little gift. You take a 5 x 8 notepad and stick on a 5 x 10 sheet of patterned paper. Then you tie a bow with the ribbon you want. For the flowers you take a plastic flower and cut it off the stem (with about an inch of the stem still on). Then you take green floral tape and start at the top of the pen, holding the flower to the pen as you start taping. Tape down the pen and back up again until the flower is secure and the tape is even. Lindsey also has covered notebooks like this on her blog on older posts.
Easy, huh?
These would make cute Valentine gifts for teachers and friends.

New Leaf

Okay okay, I have been a slacker. I was looking at the last several posts and they are all at least a week apart. Kind of pathetic. Well, I am turning over a new leaf this year. I want to be closer to being caught up on my scrapbook (I don't think I'll ever be completely caught up). So I will have more things to post. Okay so this Christmas card is the make and take for Keri's party tonight. I got the idea from my sister Angie's Christmas card last year. I LOVED it when I got it so I figured why not make something like it. So I changed the colors and a few things and this is how it turned out. I mean I could have just copied it since it was that cute but I wanted to at least make it my own...a little! :) Thanks for your inspiration Ang. You're the best!

Birthday Card!

I made some of these birthday cards for the RS. I wanted to play around with the positioning of the flowers a little more but sometimes you don't have time for second and third attempts! :) I like it though!

Colors: Certainly celery, Groovy guava and Apricot appeal. In the spotlight and Happy everything stamp sets. I used the slit punch to create the scallop edge.

Shower Favors

I made these to give to people for coming to a shower. They are way easy. You take a 3 x 4 piece of white cardstock and fold it in half. Stamp what you want on it, add any ribbon or scallop border and staple over a small cello bag. Fun huh! :)

Abbie tagged me so I am supposed to write 6 interesting things about myself. hmmm let's see if I can think of something:
1. I can put my fist in my mouth and turn my right arm all the way around. That's a little interesting right, or at least weird.
2. I was pathetically competitive when I was younger and didn't grow out of it until after high school. Like we're talking I would be out bowling with my boyfriend and if I wasn't doing well I would sit on the bench and just pout and sulk, making it miserable for everyone else. I was SO pathetic. I still love to compete but I have a handle on it now and am okay if I lose. Thank goodness I matured and grew out of that one; when I told Zeb that after we had been married a while he just laughed and looked at me like "You've got to be kidding...good thing I wasn't dating you at the time!"
3. I love being a mother more than anything! And yes, there are times I could be bald if I actually did pull my hair out when I am having one of "those days." But seriously being a mom and being home with my beautiful girls is so wonderful. They are so precious and I am so thankful.
4. I love to bowl. I have my own bowling ball and shoes. And although I was pathetic in high school I have gotten a little better. It's just so fun. A lot of people are thinking "white trash" and yes some alleys are a lilttle less than clean but I have such a good time. Zeb has stuff as well so it is fun to go together.
5. One of my most embarrassing moments happend when I was dating Zeb. We were engaged and I was working as a waitress at a mexican restaurant. I went to my table that had just been sat and it was a girl I knew from high school and her mom. We started chatting about the engagement and the time passing slowly. As we talked back and forth I said, "Yeah, let's just get it on!" As soon as it came out of my mouth I realized what I had said. I shouted "WITH....GET IT ON WITH." At that point there was no recovering so I spun around and high talied it to the kitchen with my face as red as the salsa. It was SO embarrassing!
6. I am extremely naive. Every once in a while when Zeb and I go to a movie (like once or twice a year) I'll laugh at something funny. Zeb will look over at me with a kind of shocked look on his face. He'll say, "Do you know what that means?" And I 'll say yeah and repeat whatever was said. Then he'll get the "Oh. Leah" look and say "No, it means........" Then I'll gasp and disgustingly say "how do you know that?" And every time he reminds me, "Leah, I worked construction growing up!" I am always shocked to know what something actually means and even more shocked to hear that Zeb knows it! I'll leave it at that since I don't want to write anything inappropriate...but I am definitely naive!
Well, that was kind of fun to think of things about me people might not know! Now the six people I am tagging are Summer Slade, Cindy Hansen, Emily Askeroth, Misty Pankratz, Janel Warner, and Lindsey Blackhurst. Non Traditional Halloween Layout

I had some down time this afternoon since I am home with the girls..a throwing up child yet again. So anyway, I scrapped these pictures at retreat and took a sec to take pictures and post.

So when you have Dorothy, a fairy, and a pink pig how do you incorporate the black and orange of Halloween? I had to match the pictures so I have some of the most non traditional colors for my 2007 Halloween pages! I actually like them though and it was actually kind of fun to use pink, blue, and green for Halloween. A fun change!

Colors: Pretty in Pink, Brocade Blue, Old Olive and Whisper White. Stamps sets: Priceless, happy everything and headline alpha. Brocade blue wide grosgrain ribbon and photo corners punch. Ink: Brocade blue, old olive and versa mark. Non SU: paper flowers and rhinestone stickers.

Spring Retreat

*Below is a letter written to our retreaters, it should have arrived in the mail yesterday for them!*

Howdy! We wanted to thank all of those that came to our Winter Wonderland Retreat! We had such a great time and are so glad you joined us.
After looking over the evaluations we wanted to tell you of some things we learned and are planning on changing. But first we would like to thank you for your patience since we are still learning what works and what doesn’t. It is an ongoing process! *grin*
There were several people that did not like the sleeping arrangements; therefore we have decided to change the location of retreat to a Resort on Lake Whitney. This resort is on the lakeside with cabins and houses that are great. Doing so will only increase the cost by 10 dollars per person.
Another thing many of you did not like was the food. We have made arrangements for Lindsey’s mom to cater our meals! She is an experienced (not to mention excellent) cook and will be providing a dinner the first night and a brunch and dinner on Saturday. We feel that doing the brunch will be better since breaking for meals seems to take a lot of time and we snack a lot anyway!
In hindsight, we regret that we did not provide a demonstration of each of the projects. We realize now that we should have done a demo at the beginning, which would have answered a lot of your questions from the start. In the future we will give demonstrations!
The focus of Spring Retreat will be scrapbooking since that is what most of you requested for next time. We also won’t be doing “projects”- we’ll be offering classes. Leah will be doing a mini album class (an album in a day) and some scrapbooking classes. Lindsey will be doing 2 classes as well: stamp-a-stack (making several cards in one setting) and stamping techniques. Each class will include step-by-step instructions, examples, will help you accomplish more in your free-time, and get more one-on-one. There will also be a package available with each of the classes where you will receive the supplies but be able to work on them at your own pace, without needing to attend the class. And for our novices, we will also do a basic stamp and scrap class together! It’s still early, so we may change our minds before we get there, but this is what we are thinking at the present!
Last but not least, we will need to know our numbers sooner for spring retreat in order to reserve our location, since we will most likely be reserving the entire resort! Keep in mind, we will need to know if you are coming and get the deposit sooner this time! The date we have picked is March 28th and 29th. Friday and Saturday will be $70 and Saturday only will be $35. This resort is so great and we just know that everyone will be so happy! Be on the lookout for e-mails & more blog notices!
Thanks again to all of who came to retreat and giving us suggestions so we can improve. Spring retreat will be even better!!! We are already so excited and can’t wait to know who will be joining us. Thank you again.

Create Break Tutorial

This cone is so easy to make!
1. Take an 8 x 8 circle and fold in half.
2. Adhere the inside and make sure it stays.
3. Take the two pointed ends and bring towards each other ( you are creating to cone part).
Overlap the ends to close the space.
4. Staple it together (on the upper half of the cone so you can hide it later)
5. Take about a foot of ribbon and tie a knot at the bottom of one side.
6. Staple the knot to the cone, make sure you cover up the staple you did first, with the ribbon.
7. Tie a knot at the other end and cut excess ribbon off the end. Make the handle as long or short as you want.
8. Make a little tag to hang from the side with cord or stick tag on the front of the cone.
This ia a really fun project that takes only a couple minutes. You can hang this on a tree, put a gift card inside, or candy...be creative!
I saw a cone llike this in a stampin up magazine and had to try it!

November Club Layouts

So here is a layout I did at retreat. This will be the layout for the November club at Jana's house. It is really simple and fun! Crop your pictures and go to town!! 12 x 12 kits are $4.

I have also decided to let the club choose from the family layout as well. So many people liked this one at reatreat that I wanted to give my club the option to do it. Kits are $5! If you do both layouts the 2 will be $8. The party will be so fun this month, I am so excited for the holidays! Anyone is welcome to come to the party or order the layouts! :)

Baby shower card

Okay so it has been over a week since I posted last and here I was going to try and post more! Sorry. I guess that is part of being a mom of 3, you don't get to do other things when you want to do them! :)
So this card is for a sweet friend of mine, Cindy. We are throwing her a shower in a few weeks and I just finished making and cutting all the pieces for 40 of these bad boys! Now I just need to assemble. Where is all my adhesive when I need it? Well, I ran out!

Snow Layout for Saturday's party!

The strip of river rock cardstock on the right page is for everyone at the party to make their own. They can put journaling, a subtitle, snowflakes, or more pictures! I am excited to see what everyone comes up with! For those of us that don't have snow (I fall into that category now) I thought a winter title would be just as cute. I LOVE the supersize snowflake stamp. It is so fun. I am also going to use an exacto blade to cut the inside of the big snowflake-to get the last of the vanilla! I'll have to post it when I get that done.
